• Ibtida’iyyah (Islamic Primary Certificate),

              Certification Guidelines for Imam Ahmad bin Ibrohim Sulaimiy College

Imam Ahmad bin Ibrohim Sulaimiy College is dedicated to upholding the highest standards of Islamic education, ethical conduct, and professional credibility. Our certification programmes are designed not only to formalize the knowledge and skills of individuals but also to ensure that these certifications are awarded only to those who adhere to the correct Islamic creed, conduct, and principles of the Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ.

Below are the detailed, professional guidelines governing the eligibility and requirements for obtaining certificates from Imam Ahmad bin Ibrohim Sulaimiy College, including disciplinary standards and essential prerequisites for each level of certification.

1. Adherence to the Correct Islamic Creed:

Candidates must adhere to the authentic Islamic creed (Aqidah) as practiced by Ahlus Sunnah wal Jama’ah. Anyone known to deviate from the correct creed or who is involved in actions that strongly oppose the Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ will not be awarded a certificate.

This includes individuals who:

• Abuse or speak ill of the companions of the Prophet ﷺ.

• Propagate deviant sects or ideologies that go against the established teachings of Islam.

• Are involved in any form of behavior or actions that contradict clear principles of the Qur'an and Sunnah.

Requirement for Attestation of Reformation:

If an individual who has previously engaged in deviant behavior repents and wishes to obtain certification, they must provide a formal attestation letter from a notable and recognized Islamic scholar. This letter must solemnly confirm that the individual has reformed and returned to the correct practices of Islam.

Only upon receiving this attestation and verifying its authenticity will the individual be reconsidered for certification.

2. Being Free of Expulsion for Disciplinary or Academic Norms

Any candidate expelled from a Madrasah or any other formal Islamic educational institution due to disciplinary reasons will not be eligible for certification. This rule ensures that individuals do not exploit our certification as a means to bypass expulsion from other institutions.

Exceptions can only be made if it is proven beyond reasonable doubt that the expulsion was unjust, and this will require a thorough investigation conducted by our college agency.

•  Disciplinary Records:

If a candidate is found to have been expelled from any educational institution, the certification process will be halted until a formal investigation is completed. If the expulsion was for disciplinary reasons related to misconduct or academic dishonesty, the candidate will be permanently ineligible for certification through our programme.

• Requirement for a Back-Up Letter:

In cases where the candidate has faced disciplinary action resulting in expulsion, a back-up letter from a notable individual or recognized authority is required. This letter must indicate a strong, personal relationship between the candidate and the individual, affirming the candidate’s character and justifying their pursuit of certification.

The back-up letter will undergo verification, and Abisulaimiy College reserves the right to reject the application if the relationship or circumstances described in the letter are found to be lacking in credibility.

3. Curriculum Completion: 

Candidates must complete the prescribed curriculum for their chosen certification level. The curriculum is self-paced, allowing students to access and study the material at any time before sitting for the final assessments.

4. Written Examination: After completing the curriculum, students will sit for a written examination. The passing threshold is set at 70%, ensuring that only candidates who demonstrate a solid understanding of the material can proceed.

5. Oral Examination: An oral interview will also be conducted to evaluate the candidate’s ability to articulate their knowledge verbally. This interview ensures that candidates are not only proficient in written knowledge but also in verbal communication.

6. Purpose Statement: Each candidate must submit an official statement explaining the purpose of acquiring the certification. This statement should clearly indicate how the qualification will be used, such as for further education, employment, or community service.

7. Age Requirements:

• For Ibtida'iyyah Certificate: No age limit, typically designed for younger learners starting Islamic studies.

• For I'dadiyyah Certificate: Typically for learners aged 12 years and above.

• For Thanawiyyah Certificate: Candidates must be at least 15 years of age. This ensures that students have reached the necessary maturity and educational level for secondary Islamic studies.

8. Attestation Letter (For Thanawiyyah Certification):

Candidates for the Thanawiyyah Certificate may be required to submit an attestation letter from a notable individual or recognised authority, such as a community leader, scholar, or employer. This letter serves as a formal endorsement of the candidate’s background, verifying their identity and confirming that they meet the educational and ethical standards required for certification.

9. Written and Oral Interview Requirements:

To ensure the programme remains genuine and avoids being as a ‘shortcut’ to a certificate, candidates must:

Pass the written examination with a minimum score of 70%.

Successfully complete the oral interview, which will evaluate their practical knowledge and application of Arabic Language and Islamic studies.

10. Flexibility for Non-Privileged Individuals:

Our programme is particularly crafted to help non-privileged individuals who have acquired strong Islamic knowledge and skills through informal or non-traditional learning methods. We offer flexibility in the curriculum access and assessments to accommodate their specific circumstances, but the standards for passing remain rigorous to ensure the authenticity of the qualification.

Candidates seeking to obtain higher-level certificates must follow a structured academic pathway, beginning with the Ibtida'iyyah Certificate and progressing through the I'dadiyyah Certificate before qualifying for the Thanawiyyah Certificate.

Ibtida'iyyah Certificate (Foundational):

This certificate signifies completion of foundational Islamic studies and is available to students above 10 years of age.

I'dadiyyah Certificate (Intermediate):

Before applying for the Thanawiyyah Certificate, candidates must first obtain the I'dadiyyah Certificate.

Candidates who have acquired the necessary knowledge and skills but lack formal certification may be awarded the I'dadiyyah after passing both written and oral examinations and undergoing a background verification to confirm their academic history and ethical standing.

Thanawiyyah Certificate (Advanced):

Only candidates who have successfully obtained the I'dadiyyah Certificate are eligible to apply for the Thanawiyyah Certificate.

Candidates must pass the prescribed final examinations (written and oral) with a minimum score of 70% and must meet all other programme-specific requirements.

2. Attestation and Purpose Requirement:

Candidates for the Thanawiyyah Certificate and above must submit a statement of purpose, clearly outlining their reason for seeking the certification. This statement should include whether the certificate is intended for further education in Arab countries or for professional purposes.

Additionally, in certain cases, the College may require an attestation letter from a notable individual to verify the applicant's character and purpose. This ensures that certifications are not misused and are awarded only to deserving individuals.

1. Submission of Identity Documents:

All candidates must submit a government-issued identity card as part of the application process. This requirement is particularly crucial for candidates applying for the Thanawiyyah Certificate and above.

Acceptable forms of identification include:

• National Identity Card

• Passport

• Driver’s License

2. Identity Verification for Final Examination:

Prior to the final examination, all candidates must present a valid passport or other recognized forms of identity. This ensures that the individual sitting for the exam is the same person who has undergone the course of study.

3. Age Verification:

Candidates must meet the minimum age requirements for their chosen certification:

Ibtida'iyyah Certificate: No specific age limit.

I'dadiyyah Certificate: Minimum age of 12 years.

Thanawiyyah Certificate: Minimum age of 15 years.

Proof of age is required at the time of registration, with documentation such as a birth certificate or identity card.

o qualify for a Thanawiyyah Certificate, candidates must first have successfully completed the Ibtida’iyyah and I'dadiyyah levels. The certification process is progressive and ensures that each candidate meets the educational standards required for higher levels.

If a candidate has completed relevant studies at another institution but lacks formal certification, Imam Ahmed bin Ibrahim Suleimi College may issue the Ibtida’iyyah Certificate upon proper verification of their educational background. They can then apply for I'dadiyyah and Thanawiyyah.

2. Examination Requirements:

Candidates aiming for Thanawiyyah certification must achieve at least 70% in their final examinations. These examinations will cover both oral and written assessments to ensure the comprehensive evaluation of each candidate’s knowledge.

For candidates applying directly for the I'dadiyyah or Thanawiyyah levels, they must demonstrate a clear understanding of Islamic studies before being allowed to progress to the final stage.

ll certification examinations will be conducted online. The Examination Committee will assign each candidate to a batch, and a schedule will be provided. In some cases, candidates may be required to sit for a live video session during the examination to ensure quality control and integrity.

This process assures that candidates can take the examination from any location without compromising the credibility of the certification.

2. Confidence and Preparedness:

Candidates are encouraged to trust the process and prepare diligently. Those who have followed the curriculum closely and engaged with the material will be well-equipped to pass their exams successfully. Our programme is rigorous, but it is designed to support students in achieving their best results.

Certification Issuance and Processing upon successful completion of the examination, certificates will be issued within 3 to 7 working days. Candidates will initially receive a digital copy of their certificate via email. For those who request a hard copy, the certificate will be posted, with the shipping costs covered by the candidate.

The certificates will be accompanied by a transcript detailing the candidate’s performance across each level of study. This ensures transparency for employers or academic institutions that may require a complete record of the candidate's accomplishments.

2. Strict Certification Standards:

Certificates awarded by Imam Ahmed bin Ibrahim Suleimi College will not specify that the course was completed online. The Council of Scholars oversees the examination and certification process, ensuring that our graduates meet high educational standards that align with the most rigorous Islamic educational benchmarks.

A commitment fee will be charged by the Registry and Examination Office at the start of the application process. This fee covers administrative costs associated with the examination and certification process. Candidates will be provided with a cost card containing the total fees and necessary personal information.

This fee must be paid before the examination results are processed and the certificate is issued.

2. Curriculum Integrity:

The certification is backed by a well-structured and comprehensive curriculum that has been vetted by our academic council. Candidates can rest assured that their knowledge aligns with both traditional and modern Islamic educational standards, preparing them for higher education or professional use.

The examination process is designed to be strict but fair and friendly, ensuring that only candidates who have fully engaged with the material are certified.
