The English for Da’wah and Islamic Communication (EDIC) programme is aimed at those who wish to master the English language to engage in Islamic propagation effectively. It is designed to strengthen one’s ability to communicate religious concepts and teachings fluently and professionally. Participants will gain proficiency in Islamic terminologies, public speaking, and writing, specifically geared towards religious and academic contexts.
Programme Sections
A. Foundational Level: Islamic Terminologies and Basic English Grammar (3 months)
Focus: This stage builds foundational English skills necessary for the effective communication of Islamic terminologies in both daily conversations and formal interactions.
Certification: Certificate of Completion in Basic Da’wah English.
Focus: Focusing on public speaking techniques, this level will train students to deliver Islamic messages in an impactful manner. It includes mastering voice modulation, articulation, and audience engagement.
Certification: Certificate in Public Speaking for Da’wah.
Focus: Participants will develop skills in writing professional Islamic articles, preparing sermons (Khutbah), and engaging in academic English writing specifically related to Islamic studies.
Certification: Diploma in Islamic and Professional Communication.
Focus: A specialised section focusing on the correct translation of Islamic texts, particularly from Arabic to English. It covers classical texts, Islamic poetry, and the accurate usage of terminologies in both oral and written forms.
Certification: Ijazah in Islamic Terminology Translation (for advanced learners).
